Department of Public Law
Introduction
The Department of Public Law was established in 2002 to meet the challenges faced by the legal education in contemporary Nigeria, The department mission is to address legal political and related issues in the ever growing field of public law. The Department offers courses in Oil and Gas Law, Environmental Law, Mineral Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Law of Evidence and Criminal Law to mention but a few at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Level. Taking into consideration the strategic location of the University in the Niger Delta Region, the Department is poised to address the peculiar issues raised by the natural resources bestowed in this region by holding seminars / Workshops to proffer solutions to these problems. Our students are taught with modern teaching skills to enable them compete with their contemporaries all over the world. The department also has its stable the Rivers State university journal of public law.
